This Date in History - James Worthy's Triple-Double Leads Lakers to Second Straight Title
On June 21st 1988, the Los Angeles Lakers played against the Detroit Pistons in game 7 of the NBA Finals. James Worthy had his first career triple-double with 36 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists. His magnificent performance led the Lakers to a 108 105 victory. They became the first team in 20 years to win back-to-back NBA titles.
